Biography
Born in Argentina, Florencia Demestri is a multidisciplinary artist who studied theatre, circus and contemporary dance before studying at ESAC in Brussels. Passionate about choreography and performance, she naturally chose to work with dance companies when she left school. She has worked with choreographers such as Lisi Estaràs, David Zambrano, Karine Ponties, Monia Montali and François Bodeux. In 2012, she founded the DEMESTRI & LEFEUVRE company with Samuel Lefeuvre. Together they create hybrid shows in which the question of strangeness is always central, with a focus on a dramaturgy of the senses and not of meaning. Using non-linear storytelling techniques and an intense, unconventional physicality, they invite the audience to let go and explore a multiple, intuitive reading.
