Biography
Lara Barsacq studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and joined the Compagnie Batsheva of choreographer Ohad Naharin in 1992. She has since worked with artists such as Benny Claessens, Lies Pauwels, Lisi Estaras, Jérôme Bel and Les Ballets C de la B. Based in Brussels since 2007, Lara Barsacq also develops her own artistic work. In her performances, she likes to blur the lines between archives, fiction, embodiment and documentary. Using history, autobiographical rituals and the material of reality as a starting point, she tries to imagine dances and metaphors and to move towards embodiment.
