Alice
Creators: Shantala Pèpe, Patricia Eggerickx
Parachuted into the heart of a dreamlike plot, a dreamer falls from one imaginary space into another, chasing a strange nursery rhyme in an unfolding of scenes behind closed doors. Accompanied by a mysterious, large sheet of white cardboard, she is caught up in a game of manipulations with incessant twists and turns, a maze of situations illuminated and sounded entirely live. She becomes the possession of this enigmatic partner as she brings it to life: sporting multiple figures, it merges with the wings of a bird, becomes a moving table, shines like a star, and closes ineluctably like a trap. Imbalances, phantasmagoria, sonic hallucinations and graphic reversals spring from this unusual duo. Freely inspired by Lewis Carroll, this Alice tells us of a fantastical solitude, traversed by the absurd, at every moment torn between enchantment and terror.
