Das Glas im Kopf wird vom Glas - Extrait
Creators: Jan Fabre
Most of Jan Fabre's works for the stage are conceived as large-scale frescoes, in which he attacks the theater's own canons of narrative and discourse to the detriment of the body. A case in point is Das Glas im Kopf wird vom Glas (Glass in the head becomes glass), the first part of The Minds of Helena Troubleyn trilogy. It represents the culmination of her theatrical iconography, centered on the problematic of total art. As in the opera, there's a great deal of self-destruction, to which he adds a reflection on the discipline of classical ballet, embodied in the rigor and geometry of the stage.
