David

A journey of stillness. DAVID is Michelangelo's David. Three men are this David, this David who is all men. Inviting us to stubbornly observe these three men as David, these three men holding the pose in the same way that man as intimate and social man can only hold his rank, his role and his nature as man, DAVID proposes a journey into David, a journey into man, in all his states, in all the richness of his complexity, his contradictions, the movement of his ever-changing moods, the stirrings of his soul, his struggles and his abandonments... The Davids are there, they look at us, they welcome us, they invite us, we look at them, and by dint of looking at them, we'll end up seeing them, observing on their bodies the repercussions of what animates them, of what makes them so alive, and soon, on the path of their gaze again, having thus arrived at the threshold of the open doors of their souls, we'll be able to access them, right to the heart, to the whirlpool of their emotions. To be David, to be man. David is man, to be David is impossible... But then, to be man? source: ayelenparolin.be
