The mirage is an optical phenomenon due to atmospheric refraction, which disturbs the straight path of light rays passing through layers of air of different temperatures. This deviation of the rays gives the impression that the object we are looking at, inverted, is in a different place than its real location. This projection is visible to the eyes; the displaced image is not just an optical illusion due to a misinterpretation of our brain, it is not a hallucination, it really exists as a "ghost" reflection. The show Mirage was conceived in such a way that it could be moved from the space of the stage to the space of the exhibition, becoming in this movement of transposition Mirage - displacement. The two works, Mirage and Mirage - displacement, contain partly similar elements, but exist as distinct entities, each reflecting the specific settings of their presentation.
