Du Désir d'horizons

With "Du Désir dhorizons" Salia Sanou returns to his favorite themes, namely solitude and alterity, the singular and the collective, but also the question of territory, uprooting, exile and borders. He found the echo in Nancy Huston's work, and in the show we hear excerpts from "Limbo, Limbo, a tribute to Samuel Beckett"; he was also inspired by the states of the body, the spaces and the atmospheres felt during the dance workshops he conducted in the refugee camps of Burundi and Burkina Faso as part of the "Refugees on the move" project initiated by the African Artists for Development Foundation. For Salia Sanou, "Du Désir dhorizons is not a show about the refugee camps per se", it is not a documentary or a testimony. It is above all a composition where the choreographic vocabulary leaves room for meaning and reflection on the delicate situation of refugees and its resonance in each of us. The horizon is the future, a line of flight, an open space, from then on, the choreographer shows a work with the dancers that unfolds in tableaux inscribed in a crossing where from one state to another, it is a question of questioning the dimension of the inner exile that each one carries in oneself as an unalterable piece of strength, struggle and desire.
