Histoire(s) - Extrait
Creators: Olga de Soto
The starting point for Histoire(s) is the ballet Le Jeune Homme et la Mort by Roland Petit and Jean Cocteau, which premiered at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris on June 25, 1946. Rather than revisit the piece, Olga de Soto decided to interview spectators who attended this landmark performance in the history of dance. Through eight video testimonials and their memories - often sketchy - they tell us not only about the show, but also about their lives, their personalities and the times. On stage, a subtle interplay of screens, movements, video framing, blacks and silences creates a rhythm and a space where words, emotions and images flow, so that the show can be recomposed at the whim of our imagination.
