This book, made up of archive documents and artists' contributions, explores the eleven years of activity of this space dedicated to contemporary creation in dance and somatic practices. A place for practice, research, transmission and residency, HONOLULU has been dedicated to contemporary creation in dance and performance since 2011. After eleven years of activity, we decided to collectively question its history, its modes of existence and its ways of acting. What are the stories behind this place? How can we use our collective voice to compose an imaginative archive of the place? This investigation was an opportunity to experiment, at the heart of an editorial object, with the ways in which a place emerges, seeing it take shape through the way it is talked about, described and remembered.
