Hôtel Folia

Commissioned by Frédéric Flamand for the dancers of the Ballet National de Marseille. Rhythmically paced by a choreographic writing all in contrast, the piece is constructed through the simultaneous and complicit research of ten dancers of the ballet, the scenographer, the video artist, the lighting designer and the composer. The dancers lead the spectator's gaze from one screen to another, they carry him into the multiple worlds they will bring into existence in turn, in a constant back and forth. Ten dancers cohabit in a mysterious and doubled space-time. Present on the big screen in pre-recorded sequences, they are also multiplied on the stage by the play of mirrors, creating confusion. The spectator becomes a voyeur of the comings and goings, of the little dramas. The enigmatic atmosphere that arises evokes that of a thriller or a suspense film.
