The film It's Like. was made from the show of the same name in 2003 and has been presented at the Vidéo Danse festivals in Beaubourg-Paris, Nancy, Nueva-Tokyo, Avignon and at the Atomium in Brussels. An enclave. A square of screens (of transparent veil) in which is another square of screens and the public that surrounds this space. Three dancers evolve in this restricted space, without any space of rest, always facing the others, wherever they are. Intensity. Density. Voyeurism? The choreography plays with all these possibilities of foregrounds, backgrounds, veiled, revealed. The face and voice of a woman are present via a live Internet connection. She is elsewhere, and tells us in a playful tone what she sees, what she does, what she reads from Brussels? New York? The piece explores the relationship between the body and the city; the movements always refer to the walls, corridors, windows, to an almost closed space made of straight lines. The illusion of communication and blurred visibility are strong points in this metaphor of urban life. It's Like. is freely inspired by Italo Calvino's book The Invisible Cities and the canto Letter of Heleazaria Heb. to the Emperor Titus Vespasian from Bellerofonte Castaldi's Harmonic Poem
