La Chute d'Icare -Extrait
Creators: Frédéric Flamand
In La Chute d'Icare (The Fall of Icarus), based on Brueghel's painting, we observe machines and oversized props on stage, as well as an energetic, constrained dance. The dancers move as a group to frenetic, repetitive music, caught up in monumental set elements. The work's most emblematic scene is Icarus's solo, as he crosses the stage wearing two white wings and weighed down by two cathode-ray screens strapped to his feet, making the crossing a laborious task that reflects the weight of images in our society.
