La Valse - Extrait

La Valse is a film by Thierry De Mey based on the choreography created by Thomas Hauert for the show Accords. The sound elements are the wind, the dancers and Maurice Ravel's La Valse, with a natural architectural setting as the visual backdrop. Sometimes on a rooftop overlooking the city of Brussels, sometimes inside an industrial building, the dancers form a choir that turns on itself and moves from walking to dancing. Each individual has his or her own movement dynamic, but the group moves together like a wave, until one or other of them subtly falls out of sync.
