Ma vie d'artiste: Laetitia Pujol, Danseuse étoile
Named "Danseuse Étoile" on May 2, 2002, following the performance of Nureyev's Don Quixote, alongside Benjamin Pech, then principal dancer. After winning first prize at the Lausanne Competition in 1992, she entered the Paris Opera Ballet School the same year, and joined the Corps de Ballet in 1993 at the age of 18. "Ma vie d'artiste" will follow Laetitia Pujol's assumption of the role of Cinderella, in Rudolph Nureyev's choreography, created at the Paris Opéra in 1986 by Sylvie Guillem. The story of a living memory. Rudolph Noureev's "Cinderella" dreams of starring on the silver screen in the Hollywood world of the 1930s. In Petrika Ionesco's sumptuous sets, inspired by Metropolis and King Kong, she evolves in a universe where cruelty, wonder and the magic of Perrault's fairy tale mingle. This Cinderella is both a tribute to the 7th art and a hymn to innocence, a challenge for prima ballerina Laetitia Pujol.
