Du mouvant : processus somatique de création individuelle et collective d'images et de formes vivantes
Creators: Nadia Vadori-Gauthier
This research is an attempt to conduct a process of artistic creation, both theoretical and practical, that can contribute to thinking about new modalities of images in the field of art and propose alternative avenues for representation. These images, fluid and autopoietic, are conceived here more as continuous translations than as determined forms. Alive, they are constituted on their edges, on the borderline between taking on consistency and dissolving. We start from movement, from Bergsonian duration, placing ourselves within it in order to embrace the continuous flow of our bodies and things. We engage in an open process, that of a fluid somatic experimentation base involving both a body without images, upstream of those produced by the nervous system, and a multiplicity of poetic images generated by experience. We combine these practices with a philosophy lived in action, engaging concepts in the creative process, movement, and dance. We are inclined to live and think on a threshold of trembling where ordinary perception wavers, and to develop ways of seeing that attempt to open up bodies and spaces, freeing them from fixed images or overly defined identities. It is not only a matter of seeing with the skin, fluids, and bones, but of embracing the void at the heart of things and attempting to see with "the eyes of the void" so that images are continually transmuted into their anagram: magic. We can then connect to the fluid dimensions of life so that a new gentleness flows between bodies and categories.
