A Magmatic Broth

This poster/zine explores the various elements of the performance "Fampitaha, Fampita, Fampitàna" by combining graphic, artistic, and poetic research. "Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna" means "comparison, transmission, rivalry" in Malagasy. On stage, four bodies challenge one another, choose one another, and purge themselves (layer by layer) of the violence that defines them. In the second chapter of a diptych that began with her radio piece “Rouge Cratère,” choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana seeks a vocabulary that bridges bodies and history to understand what binds them and what sets them apart. Soa is joined by guitarist Joël Rabesolo and performers Audrey Merilus and Stanley Ollivier to construct a new otherness where bodies break their silence by embracing the possibility of language. “FFF” presents itself as a rediscovered line of dialogue between the children of the diaspora and their places of origin. A plural narrative in which the fragmentation of these lived experiences resonates just as much as their reappropriation. Unfolding before us is the story of bodies that might never have left their islands, and which, together, forge a parade against exile.
