This play depicts the meeting of a couple during a picnic, a pleasant, ancestral activity with which everyone can easily identify. A meeting that slowly slides into a physical joust between the two protagonists, the object of which gradually shifts from the consumption of a lunch on the grass to the fantasized anthropophagy that the other's body gradually takes on. A suspended moment, between illusory happiness, sensuality and "bittersweet" irony. Lunch on the Grass questions male/female relationships through food, the transitional object of this "pas de deux" whose final scene is set to a bucolic arrangement of Lou Reed's "Perfect Day". source: Roberta DC
