Post-scriptum
Creators: Georges Appaix
"Unfold yourself. This image came to me in connection with this work. Not to write, but to write a show. Or rather, to write a succession of shows, like chapters in the same book. Unfolding ourselves to try and read something in ourselves, as in anyone else, a humanity that's common to us all, but also diverse, harboring capacities to think, to laugh, to get moving, to live our lives. Our lives are like books in which many things have been hidden between the pages. Other people, the world. In this highly personal text, at once playful and poetic, Georges Appaix talks about his work, as he has lived and thought it throughout his forty-year career in which, piece after piece, he has had to build shows, with dancers, starting out - he readily says - most often "from very little". This postscript salutes and punctuates his life as an artist, in which he expresses both the difficulties and the joys, as well as the complexity of the particular role of choreographer into which he has gradually slipped.
