Rien de rien, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's first work, already reveals the main preoccupations of this rubber man capable of performing the most improbable figures. Totally free of the rigors of classical or contemporary dance, Cherkaoui adjusts his gestures to his subject. Working on the clash of cultures, religion, exclusion and love, he uses the stage as a ground for reconciliation and integration, where races, religions, cultures and ages cohabit in a humanity that may be chaotic, but is always benevolent. Often performed with live musicians, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's works tend to exorcise the humiliations and provocations born of the rejection of difference. In 2015, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Ballet Royal de Flandre.
