Sacre
Creators: Igor Stravinsky, Emanuel Gat
SACRE is a revisited version of the piece created in 2004 by Emanuel Gat on the eponymous music of Stravinsky. A piece for three women and two men, SACRE deconstructs the mechanisms of Cuban salsa and reassembles them to create a complex choreographic score with a powerful dramaturgy. A free and demanding reading of Stravinsky's masterpiece, SACRE does not propose notions of sacrifice but rather a multitude of actions. It is a kind of cascade, accompanied by Stravinsky's ritual sacrifice, on a crowded dance floor, occupied by three women and two men who intersect in a dancing Moebius strip, evolving through salsa and swing passes.
