Stretch in museum

Belgian choreographer Isabella Soupart and English visual artist Jonathan Sullam set up in museum spaces, creating a research laboratory, questioning and reconsidering the relationship between the individual and the work of art. Together, they expose the collective practices of encounter and creation in a three-dimensional project encompassing installation, dance/performance and sound. 15 dancers take turns in a spellbinding, rhythmic test of physical endurance, performing and reinterpreting a series of existing dances and dance trances from pop culture. In this multi-part work in process, each performer immerses themselves in a foreign universe, absorbing, subtracting, adding to and working on it until it becomes their own. Visitors are free to enter and leave within a six-hour timeframe that defines their personal experience. Venue: MAD - Brussels Fashion and Design Platform
