Félicette Chazerand
Person — Roles : Choreographer, Dancer
Biography
Born in France, she trained in classical and contemporary techniques, after a short period at Mudra, Maurice Béjart's school. The practice of 'contact' and 'improvisation' are part of her artistic background, based on the work of Andrew Harwood and Lisa Nelson. She is also studying yoga and Body Mind Centering. Since she founded her company Parcours in 1992, Félicette Chazerand has been experimenting with contemporary dance forms in which thinking and movement move across generations. Her tragi-comic view of the body in perpetual transformation, where poetry and humour enter into a dialectic, has led her to work more and more with young audiences and to reflect on the pedagogy of movement by running workshops in schools and in urban places.
