Mauro Paccagnella
Person — Roles : Dancer, Choreographer
Biography
After training at the Corso di Perfezionamento in Reggio Emilia, Italy, he worked as a dancer for Aterballetto (IT), Micha Van Hoecke (IT), Frédéric Flamand, Karine Ponties, Fatou Taroré, Olga Soto, Thierry De Mey, Nicole Mossoux and Patrick Bonté. In 1998, he founded the Brussels-based dance-theatre collective Wooshing Machine. His research is focused on the use of dance to speak out across contemporary boundaries and rituals, crossing dance, theatre, the visual arts and everyday life to explore, with irony and distance, the fragilities of our times. Meeting, exchanging and sharing with artists from different backgrounds opens up the possibility of discovering common, audacious and unexpected spaces.
