In Hors-champ, conceived in 2013, Michèle Noiret directs five characters in a world of highly realistic film sets. Through constant to-ing and fro-ing between the movements of the dancers filmed in real life and the projected images, an in-between space is created between reality and fiction. In this way, Michèle Noiret explores her trademark register of hallucination and, by expanding the dimension of the black box, reveals the depth of other emotions and new perspectives. The artist likes to disrupt the narrative, blurring its contours, and invites the viewer to drift between dream and nightmare, to approach the impalpable mystery that lies in emotion.
