On a stage strewn with a soft, dark material, Erika Zueneli engages a body on high alert, permeated by multiple desires and tensions. Instability and fragility inhabit a vibrant being, resolutely at the mercy of opposing winds, in a state of almost constant reinvention. There are scarcely any moments of pause or stillness in this odyssey filled with fleeting images and sensations—whether tense or serene. “Si vis pacem, para bellum”: If you want peace, prepare for war. Drawing on this idea of preparing for battle, Erika Zueneli presents a solo filled with turbulent energies, a kaleidoscopic reflection of a tenacity that is both futile and indispensable: the tenacity to persevere, to keep going… despite the flaws, despite the dazzling moments, come what may.
