Erika Zueneli
Person — Roles : Choreographer, Dancer
Biography
Born in Florence, Italy, Erika Zueneli began her dance studies there before training in New York at the schools of Alwin Nikolais and Merce Cunningham. Between Italy, New York, France and Belgium, Erika Zueneli developed her work as a performer and choreographer with figures such as Philippe Découflé, Josef Nadj and Santiago Sempere, and particularly in Belgium with the Mossoux-Bonté company, with whom she has collaborated on more than ten creations. In 2008 she founded her own company in Brussels, later renamed Tant'amati. Her work reflects her research into intimacy, the trivial and the everyday life. Through her creations, she delicately observes the way in which human beings form and dissolve relationships with others, lose themselves in them or find themselves in them. Humour and derision are an essential part of an approach that is both sensitive and corrosive.
