Vice Versa
Creators: Patrick Bonté, Nicole Mossoux, Thomas Turine, Michel Faubert
Two women sway, welded together, entwined in a complicit intimacy. They are all the women in the world, protecting themselves by their complicity from the violence of men. Their fused gestures cut to the rhythm of the quatrains of an ancient song: a lament that tells of the cruelty of jealousy and the blindness of revenge. But the story is lost in the hallucinatory throb of the bodies, and the deployment of the gesture renders its framework of violence obsolete. "Vice Versa" is the first in a series of short dance narratives, the "Miniatures", that Compagnie Mossoux-Bonté is developing, here with two of its emblematic performers, Frauke Mariën and Shantala Pèpe.
