"19xBXL. An Anatomy of Movement" is a unique project that blends performance and exhibition. It brings together dance, sports, and documentary archives. Nineteen choreographed narratives are accompanied by a sound design by Rokia Bamba. Echoing the hybrid works of the duo t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e, where visual art and dance engage in dialogue, the project layers a documentary exhibition on 19 physical practices with dance or athletic performances rooted in reality. Life trajectories intimately linked to movement: from the Sufi dance of Nil Görkem, a Turkish feminist, to the contortion practice of Marianne Chargois, an activist sex worker, and the hyper-performative CrossFit of Robert Natan.
