Pierre Larauza
Person — Roles : Choreographer, Filmmaker, Researcher, Visual artist
Biography
Pierre Larauza is a visual artist, choreographer, filmmaker and researcher working on individual and collective projects in the areas of dance, sculpture/installation and film. As Php student at Université Libre de Bruxelles and Paris 1, his main research is “Documentary sculpture”: where he develops in sculpture the reenactments of historical body movements (sport movement or human interest stories). In 2003, he founded t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e with Emmanuelle Vincent, a Brussels based studio which combines dance and visual arts into choreographic pieces, films and installations. Together, they explore movement in hybrid forms, driven by a desire to break down boundaries between disciplines and audiences, and always willing to rethink the notion of spectatoriality.
