"Call Shop" is a hybrid play in which the stage is experienced as a place of exile suspended between here and elsewhere. The collective t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e once again explores the concept of the character and the relationship between fiction and reality. Here, through the symbol of the call shop, it questions the very notion of the border, its limits, and its inconsistencies. The show draws inspiration from the myriad situations of incommunicability, rupture, but also hope evoked by public phone booths—places that bear witness to encounters and multiculturalism. Conversations, dances, and mockery intertwine around five performers embodying the characters of The Other, The One Who Comes from Afar, The One Who Is There by Chance, The One Who No Longer Has a Name, and The Switchman.
