Les buveuses de café
Creators: Patrick Bonté, Nicole Mossoux, Frédérique De Montblanc, Thomas Turine
Two elegant women are having coffee in a cosy salon, whispering pleasant truths to each other. Except that... anomalies gradually creep into their behavior, the place itself turns out not to be quite what they thought, the carefree atmosphere cracks and opens onto tiny abysses. For both women, a struggle ensues: between social dress and intimate slips, between self-representation and self-destruction. At the same time, a dimension is set free: perhaps there's a pleasure in abandonment and dismemberment? In any case, the tearing apart of their characters causes them no real concern: they'd even take another sip of coffee and happily accept the consequences. Created in 2011, the show was expanded in 2013 to include an opening act and a new character: the fish-eater. With a whimsy that plays down the strange atmosphere in which she's immersed, she prepares the coffee... And she melts imperceptibly into the mirrored duo of these ladies, like the fulfilled fantasy of their desire to merge.
