"Four couples sketch out an anatomy of melancholy: they present the body as an object of desire and disillusionment, whose nakedness evokes Mannerist sculpture and medical illustrations, chess games, and frozen expanses. Their staging dispassionately depicts the finitude of the flesh, whose heady power they measure: melancholy stands between death and desire; it is a desire that knows itself to be mortal. This short piece revisits, updates, and gives an autonomous identity to an episode from *Contre Saturne*, a production created by the Mossoux-Bonté Company in 1996." source: mossoux-bonte.be
